Happy Wednesday friends! You guys have been reading me talking about Firefly Crafts for the last couple post and now its time for our first challenge!!! This is my card I made.
Our challenge is meant to inspire, not require, so there are very few rules. Those rules are as follows:
1. You MUST use a stamp or Die (or some other main component of your project) that can be found in our shop.
2. You MUST link to the direct post of the project you are entering into our challenge (not to your blog main page).
3. Have Fun!!!!
The winner will be announced on the 3rd Wednesday of each month when we announce our new challenge. Each month we will have a different prize or gift card from our store. The winner will be chosen via Random.org. Good luck to all of you Fireflies!
So, without further adieu, here is the FireFly Crafts challenge for June:
This months' challenge is: Anything with wings!
This could mean a Firefly, a Bird, a Fairy, a Dragon, a Butterfly, an Airplane, basically anything that you can think of that flies!
The Prize this month is:
A Martha Stewart Score Board!!!

Firefly Crafts. I used the no line coloring technique for the first time and it is so fun. Seriously has a learning curve but I am hoping to get better at it. I also used my new flourish die from Gina Marie Designs ( also from Firefly) . This is the perfect embellishment for card corners. I already popped this girl in the mail and hopefully it makes someones day!

Gina Marie Designs I just had to have them. Especially at $18 for the set. What a steal! I made this card using Lovely as a tree for the background and brayering. I then stamped the wildlife and hunter on white and used dies to cut. I posted them on pop dots to give them some extra pop. I gave this card to my dad for his birthday and he loved it . Go check out Ginas designs they are so awesome and affordable!!

Howdy Friends! I got this stamp from Christine over at the Paper Nest Dolls and had to color her up. I made the cow spotted paper by just coloring black spots on white paper ( so talented I know..sarcasm) I then colored in this adorable image using a mix of Spectrum Noirs and Copics. The stitched die I used is from my favorite die company Gina Marie designs. These dies cut awesome and are affordable. You have to check them out. I loved how she turned out and can't wait to play with more of these cuties.

Don't you just love it when you find a new company that you just love? This happened to me recently when I discovered Some Odd Girl Stamps . They are so adorable and fun to color I had to get some. I limited myself to two ( although now I am kicking myself because I want more and they are so affordable). I started with this one called Kaylee's Closet and another one called Celebration Mae . I colored the Kaylee in with my Spectrum Noirs and the hair with Copics. So stinkin cute!!!

I colored them in using my Spectrum Noir and Copic markers which I am just learning how to do thanks to hair and skin classes at Kit and Clowder. You all should checks these companies out because they are both AMAZING!

Today is my lasy day of Growing In Unity. I have tried to give you all some ideas on how to use your stamps on items other than just paper and making cards so for my last project I thought Why not candles? I make a lot of stamped candles. Around Christmas time I found these battery operated ones that are still made out of wax and I fell in love. For my candle project I used the stamp set Easier with You by My side
If you have never stamped on candles it is super simple. All you have to do is stamp on Tissue paper, color and then do a couple more steps and wham! Please forgive my less than great coloring as usually I use pencils but I wanted to try my new markers . These are not my instructions but they give you the run down on how its done.
Well Ladies and gents thats it for me. I hope you have enjoyed my projects. I really appreciate you stopping by and checking them out. Don't forget to comment as I will be drawing two names to win bags of 25 stamps.

Welcome to day 4 of my Growing in Unity week. I decided I wanted to bust out the old glass etching cream and some plates with my stamps. It is super simple to do and you can turn $1.00 plates into works of art.
If you have never etched glass before using stamps it is super simple. All you have to do is Stamp and heat emboss ( yes using embossing powder) the stamps you want onto the glass just like you would on paper. Then spread the etching cream over it. When you wash off the etching cream it also washes away the embossing and leaves the image where the embossing cream could not reach. Easy Peasy lemon squeezey! The only bad part about the glass etching is the cream smells like rotten eggs (gross!) and its hard to take good pictures of the glass when its done. Hope you can see it good enough. Thanks for checking out my projects and don't forget to comment so you have a chance to win a grab bag of 25 stamps!

Welcome to day three of my week of Growing In Unity! Today I worked on something that I am just getting into which is Bible Journaling.
I have seen ideas all over Pinterest and I wanted to give it a whirl. I used the Unity Set Devoted . Which is perfect for this. Did you know Unity makes more Bible Journaling sets?!? You can find them here.
With Bibles the best way I have found to use stamps since the pages are so thin is to use versamark and rub over it with a light colored chalk. Then go over it with markers or pencils. I made the mistake of just using a regular ink pad on one page and it bled through to the next. I can't wait to get more into this and record my thoughts and ideas and scriptures that move me. Hope you enjoyed this project of mine and don't forget to comment as you could just win a grab bag of 25 stamps at the end of my week.

Welcome to my week of Growing in Unity day 2. I have been sick with a really bad cold ( or heck it could be something worse because I refuse to go to the dr.) lately but tonight I felt a little better so I decided to pull out the shrink plastic. If you have have never played with shrink plastic you are missing out!!!! You can get it at almost any craft store now and usually in the card aisle. I decided to use my Unity stamp Shall we unWINEd
The stamp is pretty big so when you shrink it, it becomes the perfect size for a pair of earrings.
For those of you who have not used shrink plastic heres how it works.
You stamp your image on the plastic and you can either A) color it in then or B) color it after shrinking. On these earrings I chose to color after just because I wanted to try some new markers I got after the shrinking process. You then cut out image. If you need holes in your work for earrings or keychains or anything like that PUT THE HOLE IN NOW BEFORE SHRINKING! Shrinking can be done with either a heat gun or in the oven. I used to only do it with my heat gun but since then I have discovered that the oven works much better as the project does not curl up on itself. Hope this inspires you to make some shrinky art with your Unity stamps. Don't forget to comment as you might just be one of the lucky two I draw at the end of the week to win a grab bag of 25 stamps!!!

Hi! I am so excited for this week because I am a Growing in Unity Gal! Each day this week I will do a project featuring the awesome stamps of Unity and, those who know me know I have a TON of them.Keep Calm and Have a Beer Set
I colored the mug using my Prisma colored pencils . For the Foam on top of the mug I used puffy paint which you can get at almost any craft store. You just dab it where you want it and then heat with a heat gun. Easy peasy lemon squeezy right? Be sure to check in and leave comments on all my projects this week because at the end I get to choose two commenters to win grab bags of 25 stamps! How fun is that???
