Its my birthday month!

Posted by Lena Nunn at 12:19 PM 2 comments

I never make birthday cards! Weird I know , since its usually the most popular thing to give a card for but I dont have many birthday stamps ( gasp!) . I used Emily's ( hi Love) Bakebella ( name?) for this card. I just got some Kraft cardstock from my pal Jammie so I wanted to use it. I love how this simple card turned out. Wait! Hold it! I just noticed her shoes are not colored!!! We can't have no white boots on her. This is not the 80's!!!

Can I get a drink Please?

Posted by Lena Nunn at 12:16 PM 1 comments

I dont usually drink but these last few weeks I felt like maybe I needed a drink or two to deal with things. Instead though I just made a card using drinks ( works better for me to realieve stress then the actual drinks themselves). I used Emily's Cosmobella for this card. I Love her , shes so stinkin cute!

Knitted Pants Ski girl

Posted by Lena Nunn at 12:09 PM 0 comments

I had a great weekend this weekend. Two of my friends ( Hi Emily and Molly) came over to stamps and make Christmas cards (since Im way behind.

This stamp is from In style Stamps ( I won her in a card contest) . I lovvvveee her. She is so fun for winter cards and for paper piecing. I found these sweater looking cards in a dollar bin at Mikes. Since they were so cheap I used one to cut up for her hat and pants ( I know, I know, who wears knitted pants?!?) but I love the way she turned out! The giant snowflake is actually a fleaur de lis die I got from the amazing Marie ( hi love!)

Top Note Scene

Posted by Lena Nunn at 12:01 PM 0 comments

In order to make this winter scene I brayers not quite navy on a top note ( all the way down) . I then stamped the trees from Lovely as a tree in Not quite Navy and silver . The snow was made by taking another top note and tearing it . I then glued the bottom part on the brayered top note. The santa and sleigh were stamped using Basic black. The snowflake is a Stampin' Up! Punch.

Candles for wedding

Posted by Lena Nunn at 12:32 PM 1 comments
I ment to post these awhile back but I forgot. My cousin Jammie does wedding cordinations and catering (and mail order goodies) so I made these candles for a wedding she was putting together. Doesn't these jars that she put them in look amazing?? Go check out her site for Yummies!

I've been challenged!!

Posted by Lena Nunn at 12:17 PM 0 comments

I was talking to my awesome friend Emily last night and she threw me a challenge!! I never back down from a stampin challenge ( well ok there is a few that I didnt want to attempt) so I got right to work. The challenge was to use bright neon colors or to make your own animal print. Now I may be creative as far as stamping but I can not draw to save my life so I went with the bright colors! Emily ( hi love!) gave me this Bella image awhile ago so I wanted to use it ( because I have about 50 bella's stamped out that shes givin me ). Wanna do this challenge? We would love to see it!

P.S Go check out Emilys blog! She rocks!

Diaper Cake for Amanda and Aaron

Posted by Lena Nunn at 12:39 PM 0 comments

I know its been awhile since Ive posted anything Ive made so I decided to put this on here. I made this diaper cake last weekend for my friends Amanda and Aaron . They are a couple who had a co-ed baby shower. I love making these diaper cakes as they are simple and usually get lots of aawws and wows. This cake was made of about 70 diapers, 4 blankets, 12 washcloths, 1 bottle , 2 binkies, 2 rattles , and one duckie. It took me and Dani about an hour to make once we had a plan. This is my second one Ive made and I love the results!
Oh yeah and they loved it too!!!

Happy Birthday Jeanette

Posted by Lena Nunn at 4:16 PM 3 comments
My sister in laws birthday is tommorow so I sat down last night to make her a card. She likes anything western, horses and hedgehogs. I found this stamp at a local craft store and I knew it had to be mine ( to make cards for her of course) . I stamped this image (from Penny Black) on watercolor paper and colored with Stampin' Write Markers and a blender pen ( im so addicted!!). I hope she loves it !!

P.S . I got a card from my SCS secret sister yesterday! Doesn't it rock? She is sooooo stinkin talented. I love this paper . It was purple on one side and kraft on the other. Where does one find this paper? I must find some!!! Thank you big sis for the amazing card :)

Im not very thinspirational lately

Posted by Lena Nunn at 11:26 AM 2 comments

I havn't posted on here in a couple weeks and I was reading blogs today and saw my friend Emily had posted her Thinspiration Thursday post ( which reminded me to post mine) . Shes awsome you should go check out her blog! Ive been sick the last two weeks with the flu so I have not been doing much for my diet. I weighed this morning and I weighed 214 . I know thats great in diet world but its hard to be excited knowing the only reason I lost it was because ive been sick and have not been eating like I should ( chicken noodle soup has been my diet staple of choice for the past 15 days) . Anyways it is what it is and Ill try to actually excercise and eat right so it stays off!

Watercolored Sky winter scene

Posted by Lena Nunn at 8:48 AM 0 comments
I left my brayer over at my friend Emilys house ( gasp! ) so I had to try my hand at watercoloring a sky without it. This is the results. I used an aqua pen and a pacific point and not quite navy ink pad on watercolor paper. I love these stamps from Nature Silouettes and Lovely as a tree. Happy stamping!

Peace on Earth

Posted by Lena Nunn at 8:45 AM 1 comments

I made this super simple card using the pine branch from Noble Deer ( retired) . The white line was drawn using a white gel pen. This whole card took me about two minutes and I LOOOOVEEE how it turned out. Simple, beautiful, fast!

Gimme a cookie!

Posted by Lena Nunn at 8:43 AM 0 comments

I admit Im not really fond of fruitcake or gingerbread cookies but this image was so cute I had to make a card with it . The girl was colored in using Stampin' Write markers ( how did I live without them?!?) on watercolor paper.

Top note Santa

Isn't this lil guy cute? I saw some top note santas last year on SCS so I decided I needed to make one. I love how he turned out (although this isnt fast enough to make alot of them) .

Im not so good with the man cards

Posted by Lena Nunn at 12:40 PM 6 comments

My mom called me yesterday and asked me to make a "man" can for my parents friend James. This usually stumps me, ESPECIALLY if I don't know the man and what he likes. I figured most men like nature and wolves and coyotes ( I have no idea which one this is supposed to be) so I decided to use this Nature Silhouettes set. I Used my markers and an aqua pen on watercolor paper for the background and then stamped the tree and wolf/coyote with stazon. This was a perfect timeing card too because the challenge over at OWH is masculine cards. Go check it out!! Hope James likes this..

Thinspiration thursday

Posted by Lena Nunn at 10:02 AM 4 comments

I'm not so inspiring today :( I gained two pounds. My cousin Jammie and I were talking the other day and I told her I was practically naked so she sent me clothes in the mail (isnt that sweet???) and I was modeling them for her . This shirt doesnt fit yet so its the perfect picture for on here. I like how it says GIANT above supergirl because thats how I feel . I think I will start taking my picture each week in this shirt so you can see if it gets looser or tighter, hopefully looser. I think I need to set goals for myself each week like "next week I will try to be down to 215" . We shall see how that goes. Did you notice my lil girl running on the side of my blog? Shes a weight tracker and shes getting damn tired of running back in forth instead of just to the finish line!!

Stampin' Write Markers are my new best friend...well almost

Posted by Lena Nunn at 12:43 PM 0 comments

I have been a demo for over two years now and I have just discovered Stampin' Write Markers. Where have I been right?!? I just love em!! The other day I got 9 new markers ( hey i'm takin baby steps to get the whole set) so I wanted to color in this image and make a birthday card from my list ( my friend gives me a list and I make all her birthday, anniversary cards for the year). I hope Maxine loves this card as much as I do !

Can I get some privacy please?

Posted by Lena Nunn at 12:37 PM 0 comments
I would love to take credit for this idea but I can't. My friend Emily ( who rocks my socks with her creativity) recieved this card from her secret sister from scs. Now since these sisters are still secret I can't give credit to the lady who thought of this darling showe curtain idea. I promise when they are revieled I will post the ladys name :).

I'd defiantly gonna have to do some weights to get those things in shape. Now if I can stay away from too many candy corns this week ill be doing good ( I can't eliminate them completly or ill feel deprived!) Thank you for all the wonderful comments and emails and supporting me . You guys are great!!!

Im not a loser, but that doesn't make me a winner!

Posted by Lena Nunn at 9:05 AM 3 comments
I confess I went to Applebees this week ! Yeah I had salad but I think there was fat hidden in my lettuce and grilled chicken !!! I didn't lost anything this week which I guess shouldnt suprise me because I didn't put out the work needed either . I didn't walk ( or run for that matter) and I didn't eat three meals a day. I used to always wonder why Im not skinny when I dont eat breakfast and hardly ever lunch. THATS WHY!! You need three meals a day ( balanced ones of course). Instead I would not eat breakfast and lunch and then at night your starving so you eat the whole kitchen. Yeah thats me. Im bad at it. So this week I will try to eat more meals and move more. One thing I have found that I love is taking a yougurt and throwing it in freezer over night. Then I pack it in my bag for work and by 8:30 its like frozen yogurt . Yum!!!!

Emily and I

Posted by Lena Nunn at 11:21 AM 3 comments

My friend Emily and I stamp together usually at least two times a week so when I got this stamp set I had to make a card for her . Her fav color is orange so I used lots of it ! All the paper used is Stampin' Up! I ran the white piece through the big shot with the lattice embossing folder . I then brayered Pacific Point ( the best color ever!!) on it . The girls were colored using a blender pen and ink pads. Its hard to see in pic but there is a longhorn logo on the girls shirt ( Emily is a BIG fan). Thanks for our "therapy" sessions Emily!!

Thinspiration Thursday Week 4

Posted by Lena Nunn at 10:44 AM 1 comments

I was really dreading weigh in today. I didnt excercise nearly as much as I should have and I skipped meals ( which is super bad for you) . In fact I think the only good thing I did this week was drinks lots of water!!! Lots and lots! Even during work ( and if you have tasted the water from my work you would understand why this is not an easy task). So when my alarm rang this morning my first thought was NO!!! I'll just tell the blogging world that I forgot to weigh. Yeah thats it...I'll skip a week..They wont notice. Then when I got out of bed I thought of the reason why im doing this on here in the first place . To inspire people. To learn myself. Im going to have ups and downs before its over I mean im only 4 weeks in. So I waddled over ( hey I can say that if its about me!) and tapped the scale with my toe (hopeing that it was dead since it runs on batteries) and the lines flashed across screen (ive never hated Energizer batteries more then that moment) . The scale flashed to zero which means its prepared itself for the abuse im about to put on it . I stepped on and looked down . It displayed 219 on the screen (never have I loved engergizer batteries more) . 219!!! But how? Why? The only thing I can think of is its all the water Ive been drinking and maybe its starting to flush my fat out. On that thought I got off scale ran downstairs and drank another big glass....

P.S This pic was taken of Tony and I at a friends house when we were playing Jenga . I love this pic because you can see how happy we are . You can also see all my chins. hahah

Thinspiration Thursday Week 3

Posted by Lena Nunn at 8:56 AM 3 comments
Week 3
Ahhh week three..its been ...agrivating. I walked yesterday, drank tons of water, didn't pig out and when I weighed this morning I weighed 222. Yeah its still a loss but what the heck? I'm wanting to see like a 5 or a even a 3 would make me happy. I messed up I guess in the fact that everyone says only weigh once a week and I didn't listen. I weighed Wednesday morning and it was 221 , so when I weighed this morning and it was more it bummed me out. Was it the amount of water I drank? Too much? Not enough? Did my handful of pecans ( they were unsalted fresh ones yum-o) kill me? Was my walk not enough( I walked for an hour but then again I work in an office so im sitting for 8 hours a day at least)?
This is one of those very unflattering pics of me that I love and hate. I love it of the fact that its me and my fiance Tony ( isn't he cute?) . It was taken on a trip to my brothers house where we were stuck in the back seat for 6 hours. I hate the fact that you can see all my chins, not to mention my squishy cheeks. hahaha.
So my goal for this week.... move more, drink more water, only weigh once, resist more then a few candy corn ( damn you halloween for having those delicious lil orange yellow and white candies). And last but most importantly I wanna be out of the 220's ! Wish my luck!!

Orange Challenge

Posted by Lena Nunn at 11:59 AM 1 comments

I know this is a horrible picture but I sent this card out before I got a really good one (silly me , actually sending out the cards I make) . The other night Emily, Jammie and I decided to do a challenge of making a card with orange on it . I know this does'nt have a ton of orange but it works well enough! I CASED this from the wonderfully amazing Heather Klump . Hers blows mine away! This is the lovely as a tree set ( didnt I tell you in the last post to drop everything and go order it?!?) . Thanks ladies for stamping with me :) . Your cards rock!

Lovely As A Tree

Posted by Lena Nunn at 10:39 AM 1 comments

I was over at my friend Emilys house the other night and we were stamping and I started playing with this Lovely As A Tree set which I just got . If you do not have this set , drop everything (unless your holding a kid) and order it ..go on...its a must (preferably from me). This set is so versatile you can make cards from Christmas to Thinking Of you, to sympathy.
I stamped these trees on watercolor paper ( pick some of that up with the trees) with black stazon . I then used my aquapen and markers to color it in or "watercolor" it. I love the end result and this card is being sent to Tony's daughter.

Thinspiration thursday

Posted by Lena Nunn at 8:16 AM 10 comments

I've decided to add something new to my blog on Thursdays. It will be called Thinspiration Thursday . This picture sadly is of me. Im smiling but really im not happy ( how could I be with those arms?!?)

So I have decided to start working on my weight and posting it on here ( wouldnt you lose weight if 155 people where reading your weight?) Am I going on a fad diet? NO! Ive decided the only way I can do this is if I make lifestyle changes and better choices. I will eat what I want but only the recommended portion.

Its also time to excercise. My dad got me the Biggest Loser workout video for valentines day ( because I wanted it) and how many times has it been used? Once ( and that was by Tony). So Each week I will post my weight and a pic ( no matter how unflattering it may be). Ill also write about any thing Ive come across on my journey. Wish Me luck!

Why I want to lose weight:

1) So I can make it to see my step kids grow older and have families.

2) I have migraines ( bad ones) and Im starting to wonder if they are weight/ diet related

3) Im going to be 30 (gulp) in December and im always saying "someday when im thin" ( I know alot of you have probably said that too) but whens someday? Im thinking it should be now!!

4) I wanna look good in a tank top

5) Because I want to spend my life with my fiance and at this rate Ill probably have a massive heart attack by 40.

And the scary:

Todays Weight : 226

p.s. Id love to hear your Thinspiration stories if you have them

Butterfly Card For Nigel

Posted by Lena Nunn at 9:21 AM 2 comments

I own a butterfly farm (www.sweetmemoriesbutterflyfarm.com ) that sells butterflies for weddings, funerals, schools etc. A very good friend of my mom and I who has helped us get the business off the ground and who is the scientific advisor for the IBBA ( international butterfly breeders assoc) is very sick . So I made him this card. I know its really not very masculine but when you love butterflies as much as him you'd rather your card have butterflies instead of a car or other manly thing. I used the vintage vogue set and the beautiful butterflies (retired) set. The picture was taken inside of our flight house.

Just believe

Posted by Lena Nunn at 8:59 AM 1 comments

Happy Monday ( if there is such a thing?!?) . I used my just believe set again last night and this was the outcome. I colored in the image using my Stampin Write Markers ( how did I live without them?) and then misted the image with water to give it a more watercolored look. I also used melon mambo DP on the card which I love!

You rock my socks cards

Posted by Lena Nunn at 8:55 AM 0 comments

Its a common fact with my friends that I say " that rocks my socks " or "you rock my socks". I don't know where I picked it up from but my friend Linda bought me a stamp that says " you rock my world" and I knew I just had to use it "my style" so I inked up the you rock my and then used socks from a baby set I have. I think they are pretty stinkin cute !

Christmas card #3

Posted by Lena Nunn at 8:53 AM 0 comments
Here is another christmas card that I did in order to get a jump on the tons I need. This stamp is an Elzybells ( they are going out of business), that I got through wish RAK. I love this lil santa and reindeer.

From the garden in yellow and green

This is a retired stamp that I have used a couple times and love . Its called From The Garden. I think its supposed to be a magnolia but I did yellow in this one (its still pretty right?) .
