Cards for customers

Posted by Lena Nunn at 12:12 PM 3 comments
I needed a Christmas card for some customers who wanted two dozen so I thought of this. Simple, elegant and I love them! I used my cricut to cut out the reindeer and I popped them up on pop dots to give them more dimention. Hopefully they love them as much as I do. The only problem is now my top note is dull and won't cut. I tried sharpening with tin foil with no luck. Anyone know another way to sharpen these babies? I'm lost without it!

I can't believe its almost Halloween!!! When I saw the challenge for FOSTV was Halloween/Harvest cards I was thinking wow jumping the gun a little bit arn't we. Then I looked at the calender. Holy smokes!?!? Its only a little ways away! I wanted to use this little ghost from the Marks Finest Papers, A Heinrich Co. set called Im going Batty!
* I'm Going Batty stamp set
Its just so cute and one of my new favorites from them. I used some paper I got from a friend that I have had at least 2 years. I figured it went pretty well for the Halloween theme. If you play along this week you could win this stamp set ! How cool is that?

If any of you are wondering how the diet is going. Im down 17 since my Dr appointment when I found out I had the big D! Ive been walking still and taking it one day at a time . Here is a pic of me that I took last night .

the last of the leaves

Posted by Lena Nunn at 8:44 PM 6 comments
Fall is in the air finally! The challenge over at Speedy Fox and Friends is Leaves!!! I thought more of the leaves on the ground right now then the leaves on the trees. I made this card using the adorable set called Scenic Selections from Marks Finest Papers, A Heinrich Co . I stamped the trees on watercolor paper and used markers ( SU) and a blender pen  for the grass and piles of leaves. I then used the Autumn Splendor set ( also from MFP) for the leaves that are up close. I made a frame using pop dots and a transparency to make it look like your looking out a window. I love this little fall scene .

Cowboy Tiles

Posted by Lena Nunn at 10:00 PM 8 comments
I'm posting this challenge from the road as I am on my way back from spending the weekend up in Lookout California. I was there visiting my brother , Sister in law , nephew and of course Tony who has been there working for them on their house for the past couple weeks. We had a blast while we we were there but now its back to work and back to posting cards and things. The challenge this week for FOSTV is to make anything but a card. I love the change of pace. Who doesn't love to make something different once in awhile? For the past couple weeks I have been hanging out at my parents house a lot since Tony has been gone and I am so sick of looking at their cheap free Coors light drink coasters a friend of theirs gave them I could scream, so it was time to pull out the tiles and the ink and stamps. I used the stamp set from Marks Finest Papers called Hey Cowboy ( hey its my favorite I can use it as many times I want so neiner neiner!). I brayed the tiles with Not quite nevy ink and then stamped the cowboy with stazon ink . I always spray over my tiles with a hairspray . One because it gives it a glossy sheen and two because I was told it helps seal it and three because Its never been proven to me that it doesn't do these things. I think it kind of looks like hes in a heavy snow storm haha. If you join us this week and make something besides a card you could win a great stamp set!

PS. Here is some pics from the weekend with my family

The buffalo are in distress!!!

Posted by Lena Nunn at 10:00 PM 8 comments

Stamps: Buffalo Spring
Ink: Tim Holtz Coffee Stains
Paper: recollections
Whooo Hooo the challenge is distressing over at FOSTV. I love distressing cards. I think its because I do so many western cards and vintage cards. I used the awesome set from Marks Finest Papers called Buffalo Spring.  I love this set because I am part Native American and love anything with buffalo. I roughed up the edges of the card using a pair of scissors. I then rubbed them with the edge of a distressing ink pad ( Tim Holtz). If you join us this week you could win this stamp set :
How fun is this? I don't even have this set yet!!! Its so cute and versatile I love it! Happy stamping. For those of you who want a diet update ( now that you have seen the cute food stamps haha) . I'm down to 221! Whoo hoo!

Recipe for a great card

Posted by Lena Nunn at 9:59 PM 8 comments
Well I made it! I didn't think I was going to get around to doing this card since things were so hectic this week. Tony has been gone and Ive been spending most of my time with my parents. Month end close out for my work was this week and nothing went right and then my printer broke. To top it all off my dads truck broke down so he used mine and left the key on so mine was dead this morning. aahhh!! Thank God its Friday right? So glad I have this weekend to relax and make cards. I started by making this one for Speedy Fox and Friends which was to make a card using this recipe:
2 embossing folders
one ribbon
three punches

I used the pumpkin from Autumn Splendor for my card. I just love this Lil pumpkin and cant seem to make enough cards with it! If your weeks been like mine you should play along too because you might just win an awesome stamp set!
